If we even trade intraday we should pay attention not only for volume accumulation for previous day but we should analyze other periods like month's and week's accumulation. The volume of accumulation form past periods could give you good information for opening and closing position.

Look at mini S&P contract. You can see that in Friday 26 AUG price of contract had fallen till accumulation for past periods. And if you were in short it was a good possibility to close pat of your short position.

Other example is BRENT. Price segveral time reversed from important level of volume.
